New lathe

I just bought a Grizzly 10×22 lathe (model G0602) from craigslist. Here are a few pictures.

Before I left my apartment, and upon some excellent advice from the 10×22 yahoo group, I cut a couple 2×4’s, drilled and countersunk holes, and put some 0.5″ x 3″ long carriage bolts through. When I picked up the lathe the guy lifted it with an engine lift. Before loading it in my truck, I bolted the 2×4’s on to keep the lathe from tipping on the 2-hour drive back. They also made it convenient to attach the tie down strap.

One nice thing is that I don’t have to worry about machining the tee nut for my Aloris QCTP that I plan to add, as the seller already had installed one previously.

Lastly, here’s a picture of the tooling. I think that’s everything…(I sure hope so atleast!) The 4-jaw chuck was never even used.
